For over 50 years, companies seeking to do business with the U.S. Government have had to master the art of writing a proposal, and Government evaluators have been tasked with selecting the best contractor by reading those proposals. Is this essay-writing contest actually a smart way to spend taxpayers’ money? Are there other, better methods to consider? Join Professor Ralph Nash and Tim Sullivan on Thursday, May 31, as they discuss these questions and techniques such as oral presentations, the GSA’s approach of awarding to the highest technically rated offeror with a fair and reasonable price (“HTRRP”) used in the GSA’s Alliant 2 and OASIS procurements, the use of sample tasks and the HMS live demonstration method. This will surely be a thought-provoking session and one that contractors and agency personnel alike will find valuable.

Professor Ralph Nash and Tim Sullivan are delighted to present the third year of “The Professor’s Forum,” a monthly virtual class designed to delve into some of the most challenging issues facing contractors and Government personnel alike. Join us beginning in January, as we kick off the New Year with a discussion of bid protests. In subsequent months, Ralph and Tim will turn their attention to topics such as past performance, delays in performance, resolving contract disputes, and other similarly critical issues. As always, each session will give you and your colleagues the opportunity to hear from two of the most experienced lawyers in the business of government contracting, and their discussion will very likely lead to you and your team applying what you just learned to the challenges your organization is currently facing.
