The Professor’s Forum with Ralph Nash & Tim Sullivan 2019: Contract Interpretation
January 31 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm$1095
“Contract interpretation” sounds like a benign, innocuous concept that only lawyers and judges need to worry about, but that is simply not the case. Although courts and boards have issued thousands of opinions centered around their interpretation of what a contract actually says, that means that the folks performing and administering the contract in question must have run into problems during contract performance–problems so significant that they ultimately had to turn them over to the lawyers. Join Professor Nash and Tim Sullivan as they discuss the role of contract interpretation in the world of Government contracts, and the rules that have developed over the past 100 years or so to assist lawyers, judges and the contracting parties to determine exactly what a contract says–if that is possible. This is our kickoff session for 2019, and in terms of addressing something that challenges contractors and Government personnel on a daily basis, there is no more important topic than contract interpretation. Join us!
Professor Ralph Nash and Tim Sullivan are delighted to present the four year of “The Professor’s Forum,” a monthly virtual class designed to delve into some of the most challenging issues facing contractors and Government personnel alike. Join us beginning in January, as we kick off the New Year with a discussion of contract interpretation. In subsequent months, Ralph and Tim will turn their attention to topics such as changes, IDIQs, Other Transactions, and other similarly critical issues. As always, each session will give you and your colleagues the opportunity to hear from two of the most experienced lawyers in the business of government contracting, and their discussion will very likely lead to you and your team applying what you just learned to the challenges your organization is currently facing.
