Contracting for Services in the Federal Sector
Contracted Services consume a huge segment of the Federal Government’s purchasing budget every year and the acquisition of services sometimes presents unique challenges to both the buyer and seller. Consequently, there have been extensive government policies, processes, and procedures created to address the challenges, manage and mitigate risk, and ensure consistency of the acquisition process.
This virtual seminar will examine the various policies affecting the acquisition of services and step through the process the Government uses in defining requirements, translating them into a Performance Work Statement(PWS), identifying risks, selecting the appropriate contract type, creating incentives, selecting sources, awarding and administering resultant contracts. The seminar includes exercises to demonstrate various teaching points.
