We had a great discussion on Fun with the FAR, Episode 15 on June 2, 2021 with host Steven Daoust discussing FAR Part 25, Foreign Acquisitions, with co-host David Gallacher (partner, Sheppard Mullin). We started talking about “Buy American” priorities generally, including the fact that President Trump and President Biden are fairly consistent on their “Buy American” priorities, meaning that we will probably continue to see more “Buy American” changes in the coming years under the Biden Administration. We also talked extensively about the differences between the Buy American Act (BAA) and the Trade Agreements Act (TAA), focusing on new January 2021 changes to the BAA. And we closed the session talking about continuing trade restrictions on sanctioned countries, including countries like Myanmar and Sudan (for which sanctions are currently in flux).
