Avoiding Pitfalls with Procurements Using Federal Grant Funds

In the past few years, the US government made available grant funds to local governments and other grant-eligible entities. Many of those affected have no experience with applying for, receiving, or administering grant funds. If a recipient of grant funds needs to procure supplies or services with the grant funds, there are federal, state, and local contracting rules that will apply to the transaction. This course will provide guidance on the requirements for using those funds to procure supplies or services. Failure to comply with the federal procurement requirements could have short- and long-term financial effects on the entity.

This presentation looks at some of the more common pitfalls that grant recipients may experience which may make a procurement non-compliant and ineligible for reimbursement.
