The topic of commercial item acquisition is one that has befuddled many of us, yet it is a concept that is here to stay and plays a larger role in the Government’s procurement strategy every year. Join Professor Ralph Nash and Tim Sullivan as they discuss this important topic and many of the issues it has spawned, including the process of identifying commercial items, the procedures used to purchase them, the selection and tailoring of terms and conditions, the determination of a fair and reasonable price, and the interpretation of FAR 52.212-4, “Standard Terms and Conditions—Commercial Items.”
